Before you apply

Before you apply, you need to think about whether Higher Education is right for you and then find a course to study. To speed up the application process, please supply your completed application form to one of our consultants, plus the supporting documentation outlined below. Applying without all the required documents will delay your application and any potential offers. Once you have submitted your application, one of our consultants will get back to you .

Standard Requirements

    • For applicants for undergraduate programmes, you must provide one signed academic reference on headed paper.
    • For applicants for postgraduate programmes, you must provide two signed academic references on headed paper.

Undergraduate: 

General requirements:

Humanities, Arts, Social Science & Computer Science: 70-80%

XII with score lower than 60%: Have an option to choose Foundation and Diploma courses which help them get into better ranked Universities.

Age Requirements:

Students going for UG studies should have completed 18 years of age before commencing a degree program. 

For Engineering, Law and Management:

Requirements to get into most ranked Universities: 80-85%

Some specific subjects might also require a minimum of 90%.

IB : 38-40 points and A levels -AAA preferred.
 

Postgraduate: 

Most Universities prefer an overall of 60% marks in the UG degree, whilst some also require 70-75% min for Masters courses.

Some Universities will accept 50-60%, any additional qualification or work experience also helps.

Students with low percentages can apply for a Pre-Masters course.

The range of work experience required for an MBA is from 0-4 years. Many Universities accept students without work experience.

Most MBA accredited University requirements will include GMAT + 25 years of age + minimum 3 years of full-time work experience after graduation. At least 1 year of Senior level Management experience is preferred.

Sandwich and Foundation Programs

Sandwich programs are made up of combination of periods of study and time spent in industry. So the course duration extends to 4 years instead of the usual 3 years.

You can apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you’re 16 or over and you:

 

When to apply

The earliest you can apply for a visa is 3 months before you start your course.

You’ll usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks. You can check visa processing times for your country.

Fees

It costs £348 to apply for this visa from outside the UK.

You must pay £348 per person for any dependants.

Healthcare surcharge

You’ll also have to pay the healthcare surcharge as part of your application. Check how much you’ll have to pay before you apply.

How long you can stay

You can arrive in the UK before your course starts:

  • up to 1 week before, if your course lasts 6 months or less
  • up to 1 month before, if your course lasts more than 6 months

How long you can stay depends on the kind of course you’re doing and what study you’ve already completed.

Documents you must provide

When you apply for the visa you must provide:

  • a current passport or other valid travel documentation
  • proof that you can support yourself and pay for your course - this will vary depending on your circumstances
  • proof of parental or other legal guardian consent if you’re under 18
  • proof of your relationship with your parent or guardian if you’re under 18
  • your tuberculosis test results if you’re from a country where you have to take the test

You need a blank page in your passport for your visa.

You may also need to provide additional documents depending on your circumstances.
